Don Jorge Salles Cuervo pursues his dream and establishes his own tequila. He calls it El Tequileño to honor the birthplace of tequila.
1961
La Capilla chooses El Tequileño blanco as the preferred tequila in La Batanga.
1970
Don Jorge invites his son Juan Antonio to join the family business.
2000
Don Jorge passes away, leaving his legacy and traditions in the hands of his family
2005
To carry on his father and grandfathers legacy Jorge Antonio Salles “Tony" joins El Tequileño.
2008
The management of the distillery and the title of Master Distiller is passed on to Tony.
2009
El Tequileño turns 50 and celebrates the Golden Anniversary by launching El Tequileño 50 Aniversario.
2017
Paradise Spirits acquires El Tequileño to share Mexico's Best Kept Secret with the world.
2018
El Tequileño distillery expansion and Casa Salles Hotel Boutique construction commenced.
2018
Recognized for his lifetime achievement, Juan Antonio Salles is bestowed the title of Gran Tequilero by the National Chamber of the Tequila Industry. To date only 4 people have been awarded this designation.
2018
El Tequileño creates the world's first Reposado Rare.
2019
Casa Salles Hotel Boutique opened at the site of the distillery to share the ultimate tequila experience.
